Enjoy guided tours, children’s playground, farm, café and restaurant.
A 50-minute drive across country will take you to Sheppy’s Cider Farm, and we think it makes for a great trip from our cottages. Learn about the art of cider making from a producer with more than 200 years’ experience of brewing the county’s famous golden beverage. And of course, no trip would be complete without tasting some cider and maybe taking a few bottles home with you.
Book a guided tour
Take a one-and-a-half-hour tour to learn how Sheppy’s premium craft ciders are made. You’ll explore the orchards, press house, a vat house and the museum where you can watch a movie of the cider making year. Of course, no tour would be complete without some award-winning cider tasting with one of Sheppy’s experienced guides. Tours run most of the year except December. Please check for times and availability.
Visit the children’s playground and farm
There’s a large playground for your kids, and if they still have energy to burn, a walk following one of the well-marked orchard walks gives you time to admire the gorgeous English apples. In the farm children will love the braying donkeys, Longhorn cattle and goats.
Café and restaurant
The restaurant is very popular, so we advise you book ahead. In the café, you can enjoy snacks, coffee and afternoon teas. Or just head to the shop for pasties and deli delights. There’s a wide range of artisan cheeses as well as great gifts if you’re looking for a present.
The Cider Farm often holds events such as maypole dancing and craft fairs. Check out Sheppy’s website.
